Waffen SS 8-Year Long Service Medal (Dienstauszeichnung). This SS 8-Year Long Service Medal is an original textbook example. It’s made of a die struck brass alloy (Tombak), with a bronze wash. Nearly all of the original surface finish is still present, with only very light wear from handling and extremely slight age patination. It’s a nice strike that retains all of the original details. All of the details one expects to see on these scarce medals are present, including the teardrop-shaped suspension loop and the distinctive ridge on the ring that the suspension loop passes through. This SS 8-Year Long Service Medal is complete with its correct, original cornflower blue ribbon, which is full-length. The ribbon is nice and clean, with no fraying or damage. These SS service medals are very desirable and not easy to find. This one is in excellent condition.
