A badge by a rare maker, three-piece construction, consisting of a patinated bronze eagle, fastened onto an open-ended oval-shaped and white enameled laurel wreath via two rivets visible on the reverse, towards the top of the badge is a white enameled shield featuring the black enameled cipher of Karl I, while the bottom of the wreath is decorated with the coat of arms of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The reverse presents an original type clip back fastening, the reverse of eagle marked with BSW in cloverleaf denoting Gebruder Schneider Wien manufacture. The badge measures 39.3mm (w) x 58.7mm (h) and weighs 26.62 grams, a badge by a rare maker in near very fine condition.
