This badge was worn by members of the ‘illegal’ Austrian ‘Hitler Movement;’ many individuals were imprisoned or fled to Germany to escape imprisonment.
Only after Austria’s annexation (1938) were the Austrian National Socialists at liberty to publicly display their political beliefs.
