Constructed of partially-gilded nickel-silver, the obverse consists of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the eagle in position, with a sheet metal Hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, This is a very early 3 claw eagle featuring the deep cut-out between lower wing and tail wing, here in combination with the thick wreath. It was an early and uncommon variant that at one point was denazified, then at some point, the swastika was reattached, Badge is in excellent repaired condition.
