A Flieger-Erinnerungsabzeichen by C. E. Juncker of Berlin. The Flyer’s Commemorative Badge (Retired Aircrew Badge) was awarded to active and reserve personnel who had been honorably discharged from flying duties. It is constructed out of a die-struck tombak base that has been silver-washed and black-burnished. The obverse features an eagle perched on a boulder with its wings folded down, surrounded by an oak leaf wreath with a mobile swastika at the bottom. The full-back reverse featured a soldered-on barrel hinge, a soldered-on round wire catch, and a round wire pin. However, in this example, the Swastika has been professionally removed and readded, and the hinge, pin, and catch have been replaced (Our price reflects the repairs). It is an extremely rare award to find in any condition.
