This NSBO Sport Shirt Emblem is a rare early patch. This insignia pattern was worn on sports clothing by members of the National Socialist Factory Cell Organization, a workers’ organization during the Third Reich. This organization was absorbed by the DAF in 1935, so this pattern of insignia was only made for a relatively short time. The front of this unissued NSBO Sport Shirt Emblem features the NSBO organizational emblem, a fist with a swastika-emblazoned hammer, and part of a gear with “N.S.B.O.” lettering. This is a neatly Bevo machine woven on a white circle, on a backing of thin, white fabric. The reverse of this woven sports patch shows the design in reverse, as is typical. This patch was never worn or sewn on and has the full original backing, with “Ges. Gesch.” (indicating a legally protected design) woven close to the backing’s top edge. The condition is rated as excellent! There are no holes, tears, or hard stains. There is typical age toning to the white fabric. It’s a nice, representative example.
World War 2 was one of the most significant conflicts in modern history. Millions of soldiers and civilians died in the fierce battles between the Allies and the Axis.
