An original WW2 German Waffen-SS Handschar (kroatische Nr. 1) Maroon Fez, constructed in wool. This headgear was worn by members of the 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS “Handschar” (1st Croatian). All ranks wore the Fez cap: grey for field use, and burgundy for dress and ceremonial occasions. This Fez is complete with its original black tassel and features a textbook Waffen SS BeVo-woven cap eagle and skull, both of which are period machine-sewn. It includes the original leather sweatband in good condition and is marked size ’60’. The Fez has no damage and is in excellent worn condition.
