Waffen-SS Officer’s Bullion Cap Eagle

This Bullion SS Cap Eagle is a nicely executed rare late-war production 2nd pattern example with a “sloppy” wreath/swastika and black thread. A tough piece of insignia to find. The SS pattern eagle and swastika emblem is beautifully rendered using multiple styles of hand-embroidered aluminum wire bullion, highlighted with black thread, on a black SS wool backing.

This SS Cap Eagle is UV-Neg. Unterlagen is evident underneath the stitching and protruding from the front on the right wing in four separate locations (See Pics). There are not many original examples out there to compare this to. We acquired this piece and several others that I have yet to put up on our site from a U.S. veteran here in West Virginia, this piece resided in a cigar box. This Bullion SS Cap Eagle shows no moth damage or staining, and presents exceptionally well, with only very minor wear and a hint of age toning. This eagle appears to be unissued and the condition rates as excellent.
